Group booking calculator

Enter your group size, the number of guests per room and the per-room rate the property quoted. The calculator works out the rooms, the total and the per-person share.

Quick answer

The group booking calculator turns a head count into a room plan and a total cost. Enter how many people are travelling, how many nights you are staying and the rate the property has quoted, and it shows how many rooms you need, what the whole stay costs and what each person pays. Use it before you send any advance, so the room split and the total are agreed in writing first.

Key facts at a glance

  • Works out the room count from your head count, including how many share a room.
  • Shows the full stay total and the per-person share side by side.
  • Uses the rate your property quoted, so the total is one you can verify.
  • Best used before paying an advance, to fix the room split in writing.
  • For the wider trip budget, the yatra budget calculator adds food and travel.
  • Free, no signup, nothing stored.

This calculator needs the per-room rate the property quoted. The directory does not publish a group tariff, so enter that rate above to see the rooms, the total and the per-person share.

Frequently asked questions

How many rooms does a group of 20 need?

It depends on how many people share each room, which is why the calculator asks for that number. At four to a room, 20 pilgrims need five rooms, but dharamshalas often have mixed dormitory and family room layouts, so confirm the actual room types with the property before you commit.

Should I pay an advance before confirming the room split?

No. Agree the room count, the room types, the tariff per room and the number of nights in writing first, and only then pay. A written confirmation is what protects a group when the property is full on arrival.

What is usually not included in a group tariff?

Food, extra mattresses, parking for a bus, and charges for late checkout are the usual exclusions. Ask for these in writing as well, because a bus parking charge can add a real amount to a group total.

Can a dharamshala take a large group at short notice?

Sometimes, but it is a gamble in peak season. Large groups are usually split across more than one property when a single stay cannot hold everyone, so it helps to have a second option ready before you travel.

How do I split the cost fairly within the group?

The calculator shows the share per person at the room rate you entered, which is the fairest simple method. Groups that use mixed room types often agree the room total first and divide it equally, then settle extras separately.

Do you arrange the booking for us?

No. We are a directory, not a booking platform. We do not own or run any property and take no payment. We help you find stays and plan the numbers, and you book directly with the property.
