Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Vedic Safar (vedicsafar.com) collects when you use the site, why we collect it, and how to reach us. It is written in plain English and kept short.
Who we are
Vedic Safar is a free directory of dharamshalas, ashrams, yatri niwas, guest houses and hotels across India's pilgrimage towns. You can reach us at any time by email at info@vedicsafar.com.
What we collect
- Account details. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address and your name.
- A phone number, if you choose to save one to your account.
- Enquiries you submit. Your name, phone number, travel dates and the message you write. These go to the property you contact.
- Reviews and favourites you add while signed in.
- Aggregated first-party traffic logs. The page path, a coarse country, your browser's user agent and the referring address. We use these to understand crawler and visitor activity.
Why we collect it
- To show your enquiry to the property you chose to contact.
- To let owners sign in and manage their listings.
- To keep the directory accurate and useful for pilgrims.
Who can see your information
The enquiry details you submit are shared with the property you contact, and with the site admin, so that they can respond to you. We do not sell your data, and we do not run third-party advertising.
Cookies and analytics
We use a cookie for your login session only. It keeps you signed in as you move between pages. Google Analytics may be used for aggregate statistics about visits; these numbers are not used to identify you.
How long we keep data
We keep enquiries and account details for as long as they are needed to run the directory and respond to you. You can ask us to correct or delete your data at any time by emailing info@vedicsafar.com and we will do so.
