Yatra budget calculator

Enter a city, the number of guests and the number of days. Stay is estimated from the rates some listings actually publish. Food and local travel are shown separately as assumptions.

Quick answer

The yatra budget calculator estimates what a pilgrimage stay will cost by taking the room rate your chosen property has quoted, multiplying it by the number of rooms and nights, then adding food and local travel as clearly labelled assumptions. Room cost is kept separate from the extras, so you can see which part is a real quote and which part is your own estimate. Nothing is booked and no payment is taken.

Key facts at a glance

  • Room cost is worked out from the rate you enter, never from a rate we invented.
  • Food, local travel and donations are shown separately so you can adjust them.
  • Works for a single pilgrim or a full group, and shows the per-person share.
  • Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams publishes rates starting at 50 rupees for a single room in a dharmasala, which shows how low a genuine pilgrim rate can be.
  • Free to use, no signup, and nothing you type is stored.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a pilgrimage stay cost per night?

The honest answer is that the range is wide. Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams publishes its own rates from 50 rupees for a single room in a dharmasala up to 800 rupees for an AC room, and dharamshalas in other towns often sit in a similar low band while hotels cost more. Enter the rate your chosen property quotes and the calculator will total it up for you.

What is not included in the estimate?

Food, local travel, darshan or puja charges, donations and shopping are all kept outside the room total. They appear as separate lines you can change, because only you know how your group eats and travels.

Can I use it for a large group?

Yes. Add the number of rooms and nights and the calculator shows the total and the share per person. For a bigger group, the group booking calculator at /tools/group-booking-calculator/ also works out how many rooms your head count needs.

Why do you not publish a fixed price list?

We do not own or run any property, and tariffs change from season to season. Showing a number we cannot stand behind would be worse than useless, so the calculator works from the rate you have actually been quoted.

Which towns does the calculator cover?

Any town you are travelling to. Our directory lists 1,885 dharamshalas, ashrams and homestays across 90 towns and 25 states, and each listing shows what is known about it, including whether a phone number is on record.

Is this tool really free?

Yes. There is no signup, no trial and no payment. The tools exist to help pilgrims plan an honest budget, and the directory stays free to browse.
